Opening Day at Cabot Links

So, we are open! After a huge push by our team, it’s a wonderful feeling to see golfers out on the links.

Opening day was highlighted by 93-year-old Wallace Taylor kicking off the festivities with a cracking shot down the centre of the fairway. Wallace was followed by group after group of enthusiastic golfers who enjoyed ideal links conditions. As per tradition, Mike Keiser and I stood on the first tee and greeted the golfers, which was surprisingly more fun than playing (honestly!).

With opening day behind us, we are thrilled with the feedback we’ve received on all parts of the operation. The rooms are as comfortable as we had hoped, but are drawing equal praise for their “style”. From Nespresso machines to flat-screen TVs and our very own version of the Ghost chair (complete with Cabot logo), we could not be happier with the results. Here was my amateur shot of a room, which will shortly be upstaged by great photos that we will share in the accommodations section of the website.

Panorama and Cabot Bar are also off to a great start with the food offering from Chef’s John and Tracy surpassing their output from last year. A number of menu items were named by last month’s contest winners and highlights from the season so far include:

  • Cabot Bar's best sellers have been Nova Scotia Fish and Chips, The Links Basket and the Cape Breton Seafood Chowder.
  • Panorama's highlights have included the Crimson Sweet Watermelon & Feta Salad, Glen Ryan Farm’s Stuff Chicken and the Skillet Roasted Atlantic Halibut.

A few comments from recent guests we wanted to share, starting with Bob Weeks(yes he of Score Golf and TSN fame) who summarized his visit with “To me, Cabot Links is simply the best golf I have experienced”.

From a guest, Mike Meadows, we had great feedback regarding the staff that have made a tremendous effort to get us to where we are: “The accommodations, dining, and golf were spectacular and I have already recommended Cabot Links to several friends and family. Your team has been very well trained and exude Nova Scotia charm and attentiveness.”

With that, we say, what is keeping you from joining us out at Cabot Links? The water is warm (literally) and the summer weather continues to be perfect, 25 C (77 F for our American friends, of whom we are welcoming many!) with a gentle breeze. Please give us a call at (855) 652-2268 or email us at
