It is no secret that Cape Breton Island is a spectacular fall destination.
With just a few weeks left in our season, we wanted to round up a few of our favourite fall experiences available at Cabot and across Cape Breton Island!
Read on to learn about the magic of fall in Cape Breton!
1. Outdoor Adventures
Between fresh autumn air and Cape Breton’s renowned fall foliage, there is no shortage of outdoor adventures across the island this time of year with hiking, biking, and fly-fishing topping the list. Cabot’s close proximity to the bike-friendly Trans-Canada Trail, as well as a number of incredible hiking trails, and the angler’s paradise known as Margaree River, put all of these adventures right at your fingertips. See our Adventure Guide for more details!
2. Cabot’s Cozy Indoor Spaces
While Cape Breton is known for its outdoor experiences, there is also something to be said for Cabot’s cozy indoor spaces. With floor-to-ceiling windows in all of Cabot’s 72 lodge rooms, 19 Villas, and 2 of our on-site restaurants, you don’t have to step outside to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and golf course. Cozy up to a hot beverage and watch the sunset from the quiet solitude of your lodge room, the cozy living space of your villa, or the comforting buzz of Cabot Bar and Panorama Restaurant. Following the sunset, make your way to the Public House to take in the warm friendly atmosphere, complete with live music, local beer, and great company!
3. The Ultimate Test Drive
Combine the best of outdoor adventure and indoor comfort with one of our Mercedes-Benz test drive vehicles! Mercedes-Benz Canada offers Cabot guests two test drive vehicles to choose from, which can be taken out anytime to explore the island in style! Until October 27th, take your pick between the 2019 GLS 450 4MATIC SUV (pictured above) and the 2020 CLS 450 4MATIC Coupe and hit the road for an adventure you won't soon forget. Whether taking a quick spin around town or planning a full day of adventure along the Cabot Trail, this is an experience you will not want to end!
4. Celtic Colours
Fall is a time of celebration across the island! For nine days in October, Cape Breton is home to a unique festival of music and culture, when Celtic Colours presents over 50 concerts and 300 community events across the island. This world-renowned festival sees international performers join local artists to showcase the colourful nature of Cape Breton and its people. The festival takes place from October 11 – 19, 2019.
5. Fall Golf
Well, you saw this one coming! A fresh briny breeze on your cheek with firm, sandy turf beneath your feet make for a golf experience that is decidedly rare to find. Undulating terrain combined with coastal vistas of wild ocean waves elevate the drama and bring about an appreciation for the game as it was meant to be played.
