Our Top Moments of 2018

The New Year is here and it has us counting down the days until the 2019 golf season. With the holidays behind us, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on 2018 and all the great moments it brought us!

From tournaments, to podcasts, to hole-in-one's and more, we squeezed a lot of good times into the year. We are grateful for everyone who took part in making 2018 our best season yet, and we can't wait to make more memories in 2019!

Take a walk down memory lane with us as we reflect on our top moments from the season!

1. Golf Digest World's 100 Greatest Golf Courses

We kicked off 2018 in a big way last January. With Cabot Cliffs heralded as #9 in the world and Cabot Links listed at #43 on Golf Digest's World's 100 Greatest Golf Courses list, our year was off to an amazing start just a few days in!

It might have happened almost a year ago, but it is a moment we won't soon forget! Thanks again to Golf Digest for this incredible honour.

2. Cabot's Hole in One Hall of Fame

With the odds of getting a hole-in-one at 12,000 to 1, we figured the golfers who managed to pull off the feat deserved a little spotlight! We launched our new Hole-in-One Hall of Fame in 2018 and welcomed 35 golfers over the course of the season. Some took place behind the scenes, while others were front and centre on Twitter (we're looking at you, Brandel)! Regardless of fanfare, all were memorable moments!

Congrats to all the 2018 Hall of Famers. We see a lot more aces coming our way in the year ahead!

3.  Beach Lobster Boils

Fresh Nova Scotia seafood, local musicians, a spectacular sunset and great company - what more could you ask for? We hosted our first beach lobster boil in 2018, and hope to host many more in the season to come!

4. Five Days in Heaven

A podcast as entertaining as it is informative, this thorough Cabot review by @ForePlayPod is definitely worth a listen! Tune in to hear the Fore Play Golf guys chat about their Cabot experience with unmatched enthusiasm. From golf, to accommodations, to "towel time" and transfusions, no detail is left undiscussed.

If you are trying to convince some buddies to get onboard for a Cabot trip in 2019, we recommend they have a listen!

5. The Mercedes-Benz National Final

We were honoured to host the MercedesTrophy National Final here at Cabot throughout a beautiful stretch of days in late September. The National champions from the final went on to rep Canada at the MercedesTrophy World Final 2018 in Germany.

In partnership with Mercedes, we were also proud to offer our guests an ultimate test drive opportunity. Mercedes test drive vehicles were available to Cabot guests throughout the season, offering a fun and easy way to explore the local area in style.

6. Cabot Tennis

Focusing on expanding our resort offerings in 2018 lead to introducing a new sport to the Cabot lifestyle. We opened two Har-Tru Clay Tennis Courts at Cabot Cliffs, which quickly became a popular activity among golfers and non-golfers alike. We look forward to adding some tennis events and tournaments to the mix in 2019!

7. Jacob Sjoman Photography

We were thrilled to welcome Swedish golf photographer, Jacob Sjoman, to the resort in 2018. With stunning drone photography and videography, Jacob captured the beauty of Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs! We’ll be sharing Jacob’s work throughout the year and are currently in the midst of a week dedicated to his photography on our Instagram page. Check it out!

8. RBC PGA Scramble presented by Lincoln Motor Company

Always a highlight to our season, we welcomed teams from all over Canada for the RBC PGA Scramble Finals in October. A total of 9,000 golfers participated in the events leading up to the 21-team National Final here at Cabot.

Fox Meadow Golf Course took home the championship title, besting Ontario’s Whistle Bear Club by just 0.1 for a dramatic finish!

Re-live the excitement with a video recap of this incredible Canadian golf event.
